Meet the cast of ‘Spamalot’: Tom Krebs
Tom Krebs
Tom plays: A humorless, disgraced Monk with a penchant for self injury. Dirty Dennis — The ultra liberal Bernie Sanders supporter of Arthurian times. Sir Galahad — The (self proclaimed) best head of hair at the round table. The Black Night — Overly confident combatant who refuses to let the loss of life and limb dampen his spirits! Herbert’s Dad — The ruler of swamp castle who can’t make peace with Herbert’s romantic tastes or his son’s love of singing out his feelings.
Tom is making his second appearance with OpenStage Theatre, having played Sancho Panzo in the Company’s production of Man of la Mancha. Spamalot marks his fortieth production since moving to Northern Colorado in 1997. Tom has been seen as Trevor Gradon in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast, Man 1 in I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Curly in Oklahoma, Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, the Minstrel in Once Upon a Mattress, Freddy Eynsford-Hill in My Fair Lady, Henry Etches in Titanic, the Tin Woodsman in The Wizard of Oz, The Major General in Pirates of Penzance, Edward Rutledge in 1776, Edouard Dindon in La Cage aux Folles and Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar. By day, Tom is the Director of Recruiting for the School of Music, Theatre and Dance at Colorado State University. He is a dog lover, audiophile and avid board game geek. “This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.” – Leonard Bernstein
Monty Python’s Spamalot
Book and Lyrics by Eric Idle, Music by John Du Prez, Directed by Emelie Borello
“. . . a resplendently silly new musical.” – The New York Times
As gleefully silly yet wickedly smart as the beloved film Monty Python and the Holy Grail – ‘Spamalot’ is an irreverent parody of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. It’s a joyous romp of a musical, filled with wild characters and wilder shenanigans. From killer rabbits to farting Frenchmen, the Lady of the Lake, Tim the Enchanter, Not Dead Fred, and the Knights who say Ni, ‘Spamalot’ will make you want to take your coconuts in hand and join this wacky quest! 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical. 2006 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. Contains adult language and themes.
