Debuting Artist: Tyler Warwick
Introducing Tyler Warwick as Victor in “Cabaret”
Let’s kick off OpenStage’s 50th Season with our Debuting Artist blog series! OpenStage is home to many incredible artists, some of who have worked with the company for years and others who are brand new. This week we introduce Tyler Warick, playing Victor in Cabaret.
Tell us about yourself! What’s your theatre background? How did you hear about OpenStage?
I’m originally from New Zealand and moved to Fort Collins 8 months ago! I have been acting professionally
My first time seeing Cabaret was a production by Auckland Theatre Company in New Zealand when I was in High School. I have also performed several pieces from the show for musical showcases I’ve been in but this is my first time doing the full production!
What do you want audiences to take away from “Cabaret?” Why is it still a must-see theatre nearly 60 years later?
I want audiences to understand what Germany was like in 1931 and to see the stark contrast between the Germany that existed at this time and how it changed in less than 10 years.
Do you see “Cabaret” still being performed and relevant 60 years from now?
Yes! I think the themes and history of Cabaret will always be relevant and that we will find new ways to continue telling this story.
What project(s) are you working on next? What is your dream role/project and why?
I am a full-time actor and social media content creator so I am constantly working on several projects at once. I am currently working on a project for the British Film Institute Festival in London! My dream role is to be Boq in “Wicked” on Broadway because it is my absolute favorite show!
Come see Tyler and the rest of the cast in “Cabaret,” opening night is October 29th!

This dynamic and much-loved Tony Award-winning musical continues to seduce audiences with the tantalizing Kit Kat Klub, where the iconic Emcee assures us that “life is beautiful…even the orchestra is beautiful.” As 1930s Germany slowly surrenders to the atrocities of the Third Reich, dreams unravel and lives are demolished. Cabaret is a dark, visceral, and tumultuous ride that finds us “at the end of the world… dancing… while being fast asleep.”
